Why Weak Glutes Are Runners Biggest Enemy

Why Weak Glutes Are Runners Biggest Enemy

y! 👊

Having strong glutes when running really helps to prevent injury.

The problem we have as runners is when our glutes are weak we'll often run through our knees and not the glutes when the foot strikes the ground.

Yes we do need the right footwear particularly for gait reasons, however we also need to have strong glutes, that can be recruited properly.

Just giving a someone more squats and deadlifts will not solve the problem. If a person already has strong quads and tight hip flexors, just getting them more squats and deadlifts will inevitably overwork their dominant quadriceps and hips flexors.

What is needed is regular floor and standing glute firing exercises to awaken them.

I'll demonstrate a standing exercise you can do before you set out on your run.

This will allow you to prevent injury, run faster, run more efficiently while improving your running stride and technique.
